International Submarine Races

The ISR is a biennial design competition for human-powered underwater vehicles, hosted by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Caderock Division. The race was created in due to an arising challenge that is the shortcoming in the ocean and marine engineering fields and scientists. Teams must develop a one or two-person "wet" submarine. The pilot breathes SCUBA from the air supply that is carried in the submarine and propel the submarine over an underwater course.

European International Submarine Races

The eISR is a biennial submarine racing competition held in Gosport, England. Teams will race their human-powered submarines against the clock around a challenging course. Teams must design, build and race a one-person "wet" submarine. All propulsion power must be provided by the diver during the race.
